Reaching Thiruvarur

    If you are travelling from North, West, or East, it is better to reach Chennai and then take one of the connecting trains to Thiruvarur. The station code for Thiruvarur is "TVR".

By Train

  • From Bhagat Ki Koth (BGKT) to Thiruvarur (TVR): (Bhagat Ki Koth - Jaipur - Bhopal - Nagpur - Vijayawada - Chennai - Thiruvarur - Mannarguddi)



  • From Chennai (MS) to Thiruvarur (TVR).


Other options

  • From Chennai Egmore (MS) to Kumbakonam (KMU) by train and then Kumbakonam to Thiruvarur by local bus. Government buses are available near the Kumbakonam railway station and You have to travel about 42 km to reach thiruvarur and it takes about 75 minutes.



  • From Chennai Egmore (MS) to Mayiladuturai (MV) by train and then Mayiladuturai to Thiruvarur by local bus. Government buses are available near the mayiladurai railway station and You have to travel about 41 km to reach thiruvarur and it takes about 90 minutes.



  • From Mysore(MYS) to Mailaduturai. (Mysuru - Bengaluru - Salem - Erode - Kumbakonam - Mayiladuturai)



  • From Ernakulam Jn(ERS) to Thiruvarur (TVR). (Ernakulam Jn - Pallakkad Jn - Coimbatore - Erode - Tiruchirapali - Thiruvarur)



  • From Coimbatore (CBE) to Thanjavur (TJ) by train and then Thanjavur to Thiruvarur by local bus. Government buses are available near the Thanjavur railway station and You have to travel about 60 km to reach thiruvarur and it takes about 90 minutes.
