Programme Outline

Two-day regional workshop of Indian Women and Mathematics funded by the National Board of Higher Mathematics will be held during October 5, 2024 ( 9:00 AM ) & October 6, 2024 ( 2:00 PM ) at Central University of Tamil Nadu. The aim of the workshop is to promote larger participation of women in mathematics education and encourage them to choose mathematics as a career. The workshop is open to post-graduate students, research scholars, college and university teachers, and researchers from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and neighbouring regions. It will however, have a special focus on women participants.

Indian Women and Mathematics (IWM) is a collective of Indian mathematicians that has been in existence since 2009. The objective of IWM is to encourage more women to pursue higher education in Mathematics and to organize events and networking opportunities that will enable them to take up careers in Mathematics. The workshop is open to post-graduate students, research scholars, college and university teachers, and researchers from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and neighbouring regions.

How to Apply?

• Fill this online application form. Upon submission your application form in pdf format will be sent to your registered email account.
  • If you are a teacher or postdoctoral fellow, then you have completed your application process.
  • If you are a research scholar or a post-graduate student, then
    • You need to print the application form and get it certified by your thesis supervisor / a teacher known to you / the head of the department.
    • Scan and send the soft copy of the signed application form to nurture.1729@gmail.com with subject "Application form of 24IWM---".
    • Your recommending teacher must have received an email from us with a copy of your application. Please make sure your referee send a recommendation before the last date, i.e., 1st September 2024 6:00 PM 5th September 2024 6:00 PM. Your application will be accepted for further processing once we receive the recommendation from your teacher.

• The completed application form and the recommendation should reach us by 1st September 2024 6:00PM 5th September 2024 6:00 PM.

• A limited travel support is available.
